Project overview
Hospital patient falls remain a significant healthcare challenge. This project investigates how robotic systems can support earlier, more proactive intervention by combining privacy-preserving thermal sensing, real-time bed-exit prediction and coordinated assistance from multiple robotic agents.
A socially assistive robot interacts with the patient to understand their need, while a robotic arm can assist with practical support such as item delivery. The project demonstrates how an Internet of Robotic Things approach can connect sensing, prediction, interaction and physical assistance into a coordinated hospital-care scenario.
